We all know what Glaciers are !!, but have you ever thought
1. Why they are melting ?
2. what will be the effect of melting?
we will go one by one but Have a look on it what is current situation ( HERE )
A glacier is a large, slow-moving mass of ice, formed from compacted layers of snow, that slowly deforms and flows in response to heat and high pressure. [Words for Wiki]
One and for most reason of melting of glaciers is rise in temperature, and we all know very well why temperature is rising,
1. Smoke produced by Industry and Vehicle and also environments activities like Volcano
2. Cutting of trees at large scale - human needs and natural disasters (now we see more frequent natural/man-made disasters)
3. Corrosion of Ozone layer - more rays penetrates inside our atmosphere, and get blocked inside because of greenhouse gases.
and you can put your causes .... , at the end list is very large...
few months back i saw movie - AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH narrated by Al Gore related to earth, climate change and their effect and how fast things are happening, i watched this movie and just to search more information about it, i tries google, even you can see the results all links are just great. He has also written a book on similar lines (here is a link) [in India you can order to InfiBean - i am not anyway related to infibean !!!! ] and second one is 'Our Choice' which is supposed to release 11/2k9, he mentioned that it contains solutions which we can implement in our life and things could be slow down.
Not only Glaciers located far from us are dying but also
Ice from Himalaya is melting,
Many rivers became seasonal, dies in summer.
We are loosing our wild life, because of these consiquences.
every thing ends with key notes or actions to be taken.
here are few things i feel we can do and those are really not that tough.
1. Plant tress as many as possible - (If you are from pune then you can join us)
2. Reduce smoke and CFC produced by your devices
3. Reduce Wastage of Water
4. Educate others about this issue.
Thanks for reading and i will love the get your comments :)
